The year 2011 - " Main to padikattu mein gir gaya"
Gaurav who was studying in Mumbai had come to Chennai for a holiday - and was playing with friends running up and down the stairs. Then suddenly we all heard him crying. The maid rushed and asked him "Kya hua?" . Gaurav said : " Main to padikattu mein gir gaya". We all burst out laughing.
Paddikattu is a tamil word and means stairway.

Gaurav - my younger one is a 2005 born. He has changed schools, and shifted residence - a decision he took on his own.
I requested, pleaded asking him to come back to chennai after a holiday in Bombay - he refused.
He said ma....a baby in mother's stomach does not remain in more than 10 months.
Now am 10 years old, need to grow...i need friends, education, discipline and much more. Please do not disturb me. I love you. Please come and visit when you feel like. I need someone who can give me time, some one who has strength and enjoys playing games with me. I need space to run around. And all that is possible only with mama. So please do not disturb me from here.
Come and see me once in three months. PLease remember I always love you. You also love me. So please.
I am a happy and proud mother, though do miss their presence, love them, love my brother for having given them so much of love and confidence to take the decision.

Since kids will now be staying with my brother at Bombay, I asked my elder one - shall I buy you new clothes or send the clothes from chennai?
He said, no ma, we will manage with what we have. Easier to maintain a few. Our stuff will be always clean. Too many clothes, then we cannot maintain. It is ok, we shall ask you when ever we need.
Such maturity. Stunning me. Love both of them.
January 2014
This was last year in January!! Kids are growing so fast!! This car Pushkal did reiki to materialize his Mama's wish to buy this car - .....
2013 - October
( I am up all night w0rking, sleep in the mornings)
Anand (my husband) - ever since kids grew up with him alone for a couple of years has been extremely possessive about their personal needs - school, tiffen box, dinner, tuition etc. I literally used to have no work where the kids were concerned!
And that year her made quiet a few trips in and out of Chennai - which was getting strenuous on me.
One fine October morning, he said it is very urgent that he leaves for Mumbai to complete a deal with some channel to buy some Tamil movies and clips that he owns. I was arguing with him, why would Mumbai channel call u to Mumbai to buy TAMIL clips. What business you cannot do here - how can you do it there?......An so on and so forth,
Then finally in the evening he said it would be just for a couple of days as he cannot leave the kids alone to suffer for very long...
Then he called me and asked "Will you feed the kids on time?" Wonder what they would do without me??? And all such statements! I did not bother to react.
The next morning, by 5 am I had the dabbas ready - Dosa with Chutney. Gaurav was up by 5.30 so he saw me pack the dabbas.
Pushkal - being extra attached to Anand had a slight wheeze in the night so I woke him up late, just enough time to have cornflakes with milk, a quick shower, ready to school - the van came and picked them up.
Afternoon, back from school - when Gaurav came home, I excitedly opened his dabba - and he had one dosa remaining of the four I had kept. I asked him as to y he did not eat. He said it was too much for him, as he would normally eat only three.
He added - the dosas were nice and soft, thank you for taking so much trouble to make it for us. I was feeling like a stranger - so formal he was.
Then half hour later Pushkal walked in - I rushed to check his dabba - he had not even opened it!! Asked him why? He said "Amma I did not know you could have kept something inside. I thought you may have given me yesterdays dabba in hand and it may stink if i open and check in school. I did not know that you can cook. He said I was so hungry in school, but I pretended to be catching up with the notes, so others don't realise I do not have my dabba. I did not want to give you a bad name amma!!
I did not know whether to laugh or to cry!!
